How to…
Receive an order into stock
When an order arrives, mark it received and add it to stock, with its details already filled in.
Anyone who may edit the orderDesktop and lab server
- Open Orders and find the order. The status chips, Requested, Ordered, Received, Cancelled, narrow the sheet to one stage.
- Mark it received: set its Status to received, or on the Board, drag its card to the Received column.
- BioManager asks Add it to stock? Under Add to, choose the reagents, antibodies or viruses it goes into, and under Belongs to, whether it is lab common or yours. Not now leaves it; later, the To stock button on the order does the same.
- Press Add to stock.
- The new record opens with its name, vendor, catalogue number, lot, quantity and expiry already filled in from the order. Add where it is kept.If that database needs a field the order doesn't have, its form opens filled in from the order instead: fill in the rest and save.
From then on the order shows Reagents #8 and the reagent shows the order it came from; each opens the other. The person who requested the order is notified as it moves. When it runs low, Order again (the cart button on the reagent, antibody or virus) opens a new order with its details.
