Working as a lab
Project groups
Share animals, stock, databases and pages among the people on a project.
Since 1.0.3
A group is some of the lab working on one project: a layer between you and the whole lab. More → Project groups lists them and who is in each. An admin makes a group, names it and picks its members; a group's leads may add and remove members too. Someone can be in several groups.
- Shared with a group. Wherever you choose Shared or Lab common, your groups are offered as well: a breeder cage, a plasmid or a reagent shared with a group is its members' to edit. For a breeding tank or a lab stock vial, pick the group under Shared with in its dialog. Everyone in the lab still sees them.
- A group's database. When you make a database, Who is it for? offers your groups: only their members (and admins) see it, and they are told it was added. Share with the group on the Databases page gives one of your own to a group.
- A group's events and to-dos. On the calendar, Who sees it offers your groups: the group's members see it on their calendar (and a to-do on Home), and any of them can tick a to-do off; only its maker or an admin changes an event or deletes a to-do.
- Notebook. Share on a page offers your groups as well as people, to view or to edit; a template can be for a group (Who can use it).
- The colony. My groups, beside My colony, shows the mice and cages of everyone in your groups.
Deleting a group (admins) makes what was shared with it its owner's own again (a breeding tank or a stock vial the lab's, as its purpose says), and a group's databases their maker's.
