Working as a lab

People and guests

Approve sign-ups, manage admins and accounts, offer Google, Microsoft or institution sign-in, and let guests in.

Admins
Joining
New sign-ups wait for an admin's approval in Manage users. Members can also sign in with Google or Microsoft, or with the institution's own account, if the server offers it, and connect it under Settings → Sign-in methods (setting it up).
Admins
Manage users promotes and demotes admins, disables accounts and resets passwords; Lab setup can also make someone admin. Keep at least two.
Leaving
More → Colony overview in the sidebar (admins) lists every cage by who manages it, idle cages and living mice without a cage; hand racks over in Racks & boxes, then disable the account. Their records and history stay.
Guests
For someone outside the lab — a collaborator, a visitor — for a day to a month: Guests in the account menu (admins), who it's for and how long, Make a code. They open the link, enter the code, and work as a member with their own account until the pass ends or you press End now. On a Tailscale server, the admin can let guests in from the internet without Tailscale (how).

Troubleshooting

I forgot my password

Ask an admin: Manage users resets it.
